Beginning the 6th day of the fall/spring semester, the 1st day of summer/winter session, or the 1st day of any off-cycle course that begins within the regular session, students may request to add courses online by obtaining required authorizations. In many cases, the online process replaces the paper add forms used in previous sessions. 

Note: Optimum Enrollment of the Course- If the course is in a University Classroom, the enrollment should be less than or equal to 50% of the room capacity for summer 2021. Please do not authorize an add if the room capacity will be exceeded. This information applies to summer 2021 only.

Every morning at 5:00 a.m., emails will be sent with a list of students who have pending course add requests that have not been authorized by the Department (or Instructor) or Advisor during the previous 24 hours.

Emails will be sent to:

  • The Registration Email associated with the admin home of the course subject acronym
  • The Principal Advisor on any active POS for the students who wish to add a course

Instructors will not receive these emails. If you do not receive an email, there are no students in your courses that are requesting to add or you have no advisees who have requested to add a course. You can review the emailed list or utilize the two listed reports below to identify students that wish to complete an add request.

Log-in to MAUI with your HawkID and Password.

Locate the student using the "Person Search" feature in the top yellow banner by typing in a name, HawkID, or University ID number. 

In the upper left-hand corner of the student record, select the "Registration Change Authorization" panel in the Tabs area.

Within the Registration Changes table, locate the course for authorization. 

Select "Authorize" under the appropriate signature area.

ocate the student via Person Inspector and go to the Registration Change Authorizations Tab, then click on the trash can icon on the far right to delete the add request

Locate the student and click on their Name to be taken to the Registration Change Authorization page in MAUI

Tip:

To Remove an add request, there cannot be any authorizations present. If one authorization is present it will need to be revoked. 

If all authorizations are present the student has already been notified that they can add the course.

     In this situation please reach out to the student immediately if you plan to revoke both authorizations and provide a  reason, ex: the course is full, they missed too many sessions, etc.

     If the instructor or department is able to provide suggestions for other courses the student might take instead please    share that information. 

Instructors cannot remove or revoke add requests. This must be done by an Advisor or departmental administrator.

Within the Registration Changes table, select the "pencil icon" next to the section that needs to be edited.

How to add a Comment to Registration Change Request 

Locate the student using the "Person Search" feature in the top yellow banner either by typing in a name, HawkID, or University ID number. 

In the upper, left-hand corner of the student's record, select the "Registration Change Request" panel in the Tabs area. 

Within the Registration Changes table, locate the course for authorization. 

Select "Comment" under the course.  

Type comment in the "Add new comment" field and click "Save."
